Converge Announce Surprise Album 'Hum of Hurt' and Drop Title Track

Converge are proving to be unstoppable, announcing their second album of 2026. Hot on the heels of Love Is Not Enough which came out in February, the Boston metalcore powerhouse is gearing up to unleash Hum of Hurt on June 5th. Fans can get a taste of what's to come with the release of the title track, available now.

Inspired by the enigmatic phenomenon known as "The Hum" – a low-frequency sound perceptible to only a fraction of the population – Hum of Hurt delves into the idea of collective pain manifesting as an audible signal. As Jacob Bannon, vocalist for Converge, explains, the album explores this concept without being a direct sequel to Love Is Not Enough. The band aimed to create a noise-rock record, diverging slightly from the more metal-leaning direction of their previous release.
