Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Blasts ICE and MAGA at Super Bowl Pre-Party
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong didn't hold back at a Super Bowl pre-party, taking aim at ICE, Donald Trump, and more.
Last month, it was announced that Green Day would be playing the Super Bowl opening ceremony. Donald Trump was already annoyed about Bad Bunny doing the Halftime Show and wasn't happy about this either.
At FanDuel and Spotify’s Super Bowl pre-party Friday night (Feb. 6), Billie Joe Armstrong made an anti-ICE statement during Green Day's performance at San Francisco's Pier 29.
"To all the ICE agents out there, wherever you are," the frontman said on stage, "quit your shitty-ass job. Quit that shitty job you have. Because when this is over — and it will be over at some point in time — Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna drop you like a bad fucking habit. Come on this side of the line."
He also dedicated "Holiday" to Minneapolis and changed the words in that song from "the representative from California has the floor" to "the representative from Epstein Island has the floor." He did his usual lyric swap for "American Idiot," singing, "I'm not part of the MAGA agenda" instead of "I'm not part of a redneck agenda."
Many are wondering if they'll be outspoken at the big game's opening ceremony performance tomorrow.
