Jack Black and Jack White joined forces on Saturday Night Live for a unique rendition of The White Stripes’ iconic hit, ‘Seven Nation Army’.

It marked the School Of Rock star’s fifth time hosting SNL, earning him entry into the prestigious Five-Timers Club. He was welcomed by veteran hosts including Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Candice Bergen, and Melissa McCarthy.

White also made a cameo during the monologue, humorously referencing his status as a five-time musical guest.

Then, Black launched into a personalized version of ‘Seven Nation Army’, with White backing him on guitar. The lyrics celebrated their collaboration and Five-Timers status.

White also featured in a pre-recorded sketch, playing a guitarist in a spoof country song titled ‘Words To Live By’:

White also took the stage as the musical guest, performing his two new singles ‘G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs’ and ‘Derecho Demonico’, which had just been released the day before. You can watch both performances here.

These new tracks are White’s first since his Grammy-nominated 2024 album ‘No Name’. NME gave the album four stars, praising its raw energy and playful spirit, calling it “an ode to the mystique of rock’n’roll”.

White is set to embark on a European tour later this year, starting in Latvia on May 30 and concluding in Belgium on June 17. Find the full list here and tickets here.

In related news, White has been vocal about his opposition to Donald Trump, recently criticizing the plan to include Trump’s signature on US currency and previously calling for his removal from office following a racist social media post.
