LIDO Festival Reschedules Maribou State, Cancels CMAT and Bombay Bicycle Club Due to Ground Concerns

LIDO Festival Reschedules **Maribou State**, Cancels **CMAT** and **Bombay Bicycle Club** Due to Ground Concerns

The LIDO Festival, which debuted last year after its announcement in late 2024, is organized by AEG Presents, the same team behind All Points East, BST Hyde Park, and Forwards.

The 2026 edition was highly anticipated, with CMAT initially set to headline on June 12, supported by Father John Misty, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, and others. Bombay Bicycle Club were slated to headline on June 14, performing their albums ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’ and ‘Flaws,’ with support from Metronomy, Alice Phoebe Lou, Billie Marten, and Lucy Rose. Maribou State was scheduled to close the festival on June 20, with support from Kelis and Folamour.

However, organizers have now revealed that CMAT and Bombay Bicycle Club’s performances have been cancelled, and the Maribou State show has been moved to August 31.

This decision was made “to protect park grounds,” according to the festival's statement.

The statement emphasized that “Protecting the condition of Victoria Park is of paramount importance to LIDO and to London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH),” referencing the dust issues experienced at last year’s festivals, which led to an “extensive reseeding and improvement programme.”

While the reseeding program has been “highly successful” and the park is “now in great condition for everyday community use”, the ground is reportedly not yet ready for the foot traffic of a three-day festival.

The decision to cancel and reschedule was made after advisors recommended allowing the “newly improved areas a little more time” to recover from an unusually wet winter. The goal is to “ensure the outcome best supports park users and the wider community”.

“Any changes are in no way the fault of the artists or London Borough of Tower Hamlets, all of whom have been fully supportive,” the statement continued. “There is no impact on LTH, and all financial commitments and AEG’s support for community programmes in the borough remain fully protected. LTH has also confirmed that this adjustment allows LIDO organisers to continue to deliver proposed capital investment for Victoria Park.”

Tickets already purchased for the Maribou State show will be valid for the new August 31 date. Ticket holders for CMAT and Bombay Bicycle Club are advised to visit LIDO’s website for refund information.

"I am very very sorry to tell you that due to issues with the ground at Victoria Park, Lido Festival has to move to new dates in August, and as a result, I – like others on the bill – am no longer able to play,” CMAT shared in a message to her fans.

“I am truly devastated not to be able to play this festival. I realise this will cause issues for some of you who have bought tickets and may be travelling and for that I can only say sorry.”

This marks the second London festival setback this week, following the cancellation of Wireless due to controversy surrounding Kanye West as a headliner.

The inaugural 2025 LIDO Festival featured headliners Massive Attack, Jamie xx, Charli XCX, London Grammar, and Turnstile at Outbreak Fest.

All Points East is still scheduled to take place in Victoria Park in August, with headliners Lorde, Twenty One Pilots, Jorja Smith, Tyler, The Creator, and Deftones at Outbreak.
