Lindsey Buckingham's Alleged Stalker Charged with Multiple Felonies

On March 25, Lindsey Buckingham was reportedly attacked by a stalking suspect as he arrived for an appointment in Santa Monica, California. The woman, Michelle Dick, allegedly threw an unknown substance at him. She has now been charged with seven criminal counts in Los Angeles County, according to Rolling Stone.

The charges against Michelle Dick include one felony count of making criminal threats, a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon involving a motor vehicle on March 19, a felony count of vandalizing Buckingham’s Mercedes-Benz S450 on March 19, one separate felony count of making a criminal threat against Buckingham on March 25, and a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly using force during that incident. Prosecutors allege Dick stalked Buckingham between late 2021 and March 2026, also stalking a second alleged victim, Stephanie N., causing them to fear for their safety. An arrest warrant has been issued for Dick, with bail set at $300,000.

In November 2024, Buckingham obtained a restraining order against Dick, detailing years of alleged harassment. He stated he was “afraid her conduct may escalate into something physically dangerous to me and my family.” The harassment began with numerous phone calls and messages, including claims that she was his child and threats to kill him and his family. It then escalated to Dick blaming Buckingham for “facial deformities she suffered as a child,” which he denied, and demanding money. Buckingham alleged that Dick made threats at a San Francisco venue where he performed, left a photo collage from her Instagram at his home, and parked her car outside his house.

On November 3, 2024, Dick allegedly called 911, falsely reporting that Buckingham’s son was “suicidal” inside the home and that she heard gunshots, leading to a swatting incident at the musician’s home. Buckingham was briefly detained while police searched the premises, eventually determining his son was safe. Judge Elizabeth Scully granted the restraining order on December 20, 2024, requiring Dick to stay at least 100 yards away from Buckingham, his wife, his son, their homes, and their vehicles for five years, and forbidding her from contacting the Buckingham family in any way.

Following open heart surgery in 2019, Buckingham released his seventh solo album, Lindsey Buckingham, in 2021. Last year, he and Stevie Nicks announced a reissue of Buckingham Nicks, their 1973 album recorded before joining Fleetwood Mac.
