Madonna Joins Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella for Epic Throwback Performance and Astrological Insights

Last weekend, Sabrina Carpenter's Hollywood-themed performance was already a highlight of Coachella. Last night, she elevated it to legendary status by bringing out Madonna, who also announced her new album Confessions II earlier this week.

The pop icon appeared during Carpenter's "Juno," and together they performed Madonna's "Vogue," "Like A Prayer," "Get Together," and the unreleased "Bring Your Love." Madonna also reminisced about her 2006 Coachella headlining set: "So, 20 years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions On A Dance Floor part one in America," she said. Then came the astrology lesson:

>Also, I want to point out that [tonight] is New Moon of Taurus. [Sabrina] is very stubborn. New Moon of Taurus and seven planets lining in Aries. Here’s what it means: we need to work on our communication skills because we all think that we’re talking to each other on the phone, but we’re not really communicating. The other thing that we need to do is avoid confrontation. Why? Because Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, and Mars is the planet of war. For the rest of the month, let’s try to get along. To that point, music brings people together — it’s the one place, where people put their differences aside.

While last weekend featured special guests like Susan Sarandon and Will Ferrell, this time Geena Davis and Terry Crews graced the stage. Crews even reprised his White Chicks moment, singing Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles,” a performance Carlton herself did with Teddy Swims the previous weekend.

Madonna's new Confessions II single "I Feel So Free" is out now. Confessions II, arriving July 3, is a sequel to 2005's Confessions On A Dance Floor.
