MUNA Announces New Album 'Dancing on the Wall' and Drops Euphoric Title Track

MUNA is back, igniting excitement with their first new album in four years. Dancing on the Wall, the indie pop trio’s highly anticipated fourth studio LP, is slated for release on May 8 via Saddest Factory/Secretly Group. The band is fully embracing the album's central themes: emotional vulnerability and the unifying power of shared experiences, as showcased in their music video for the lead single, “Dancing on the Wall.”
About the title track, MUNA shared that it might be their "favorite song" they’ve created. They elaborated, "We think it’s all the best parts of MUNA - it’s coming from a really emotional and lonely place, but the song itself makes us feel powerful and euphoric. It’s written in the moment that the clock strikes midnight at the ball, and you have to give up the fantasy. In this case, it’s the fantasy of loving someone or something that can’t love you back."
Dancing on the Wall, masterfully produced by Naomi McPherson, follows MUNA’s self-titled album from 2022. Described as a balance between opposing forces—propulsion and introspection, euphoria and unease—the album aims to "invit[e] listeners onto the dancefloor while keeping its inner world deliberately unresolved."
