Olivia Rodrigo Debuts New Songs 'Drop Dead' and 'Begged' on SNL
Olivia Rodrigo made a stellar return to Saturday Night Live, showcasing two new tracks, 'Drop Dead' and 'Begged,' from her highly anticipated album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

Olivia Rodrigo graced Saturday Night Live for her third musical guest appearance, delivering captivating performances of two songs from her upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
Having previously lit up the SNL stage in 2023 and 2021, Rodrigo opened with "Drop Dead," a collaboration with Amy Allen and her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter, who also took on hosting duties for the SNL episode, has described You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love as a collection of predominantly "sad love songs."
"I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them," she told British Vogue last month.
She elaborated, "It was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place. When you’re experiencing that you’re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you’re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!"
The album, Rodrigo’s third studio effort following 2023’s Guts and 2021’s Sour, is slated for release on June 12, with Nigro once again at the helm as producer.
For her second performance of the night, Rodrigo unveiled "Begged," featuring backing vocals from Weyes Blood, the acclaimed Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who is also preparing to release a new album.
Rodrigo’s expansive 65-date "Unraveled Tour," supporting her forthcoming album, kicks off in September in Hartford, Connecticut. The North American leg concludes in February in Brooklyn, followed by the European leg, culminating in Barcelona in early May.
