Olivia Rodrigo Dominates U.K. Charts with New Single "Drop Dead"
Olivia Rodrigo scores her fourth U.K. No. 1 single with "Drop Dead," dethroning Sam Fender and Olivia Dean and signaling a vibrant new era for the pop sensation.

Olivia Rodrigo continues her reign over the U.K. charts, landing her fourth No. 1 single with the electrifying track "Drop Dead." The song skyrocketed to the top spot in its debut week (April 25), reaffirming Rodrigo's status as a dominant force in contemporary pop music.
"Drop Dead" unseats Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s collaborative hit, “Rein Me In,” which previously held the No. 1 position for five weeks and a total of eight non-consecutive weeks. This marks a significant shift at the top, highlighting Rodrigo's enduring appeal and the fresh energy of her new material.
This chart-topping single is the first glimpse into Rodrigo’s highly anticipated third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, slated for release on June 12. Fans got a sneak peek of “Drop Dead” during Rodrigo’s electrifying Coachella performance last weekend, where she shared the stage with Addison Rae.
"Drop Dead" now joins Rodrigo's impressive list of U.K. No. 1 hits, including “drivers license” (2021), “good 4 u” (2021), and “vampire” (2023). Her previous albums, SOUR and GUTS, also achieved No. 1 status on the Official Albums Chart, cementing her place as a chart-topping artist.
"Rein Me In” slips to No. 2, though Dean has reason to celebrate the launch of her global The Art of Loving tour, which commenced in Glasgow, Scotland, on Wednesday, April 23.
Following his Coachella appearance, Justin Bieber is experiencing a resurgence in the U.K. charts. “Beauty and a Beat” climbs to No. 3, achieving a new peak, while “Daises” (from 2025) jumps ten spots to No. 5. Additionally, “Baby” lands at No. 17, and Bieber’s collaboration with Sean Kingston, “Eenie Meenie,” secures a spot at No. 32 within the top 40.
Tame Impala’s “Dracula” descends two spots to No. 4, while Alex Warren (“Fever Dream,” No. 5) and Sombr (“Homewrecker,” No. 7) make notable appearances in the top 10.
On the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, Skindred edged out Jessie Ware to claim the No. 1 position with their ninth studio album, You Got This, marking their first chart-topping album. Ware’s Superbloom finishes closely behind at No. 2, and Zayn’s Konnakol debuts at No. 4.
