**Overmono** Announce New Album 'Pure Devotion' and Drop Electrifying Single "Lockup"

Electronic music aficionados, brace yourselves! Overmono, the dynamic Welsh duo comprised of brothers Tom and Ed Russell, have officially announced their highly anticipated second album, Pure Devotion. Slated for release on August 7 through XL Recordings, this follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2023 debut, Good Lies, promises a sonic journey featuring exciting collaborations with Ruthven, Kindora, Rock Floyd, and John Joseph Holt.

To whet our appetites, Overmono has dropped the lead single, "Lockup." This electrifying track masterfully reworks "What A Waste" by Birmingham post-punk band Fast Relief into a pulsating, four-on-the-floor club anthem. Give it a listen below and prepare to be captivated.

In a press statement, Overmono shared insights into the album's creation, emphasizing the tangible, hands-on studio process. They aimed for Pure Devotion to capture the physicality and delightfully quirky techniques employed in crafting its unique soundscapes. "We ran tape over magnets, blew up some speakers, and finally utilized that dirt-cheap, overclocked FX unit we snaffled years ago in Bromley," Overmono revealed. "We even oven-baked a cymbal covered in coffee grounds, crisps, and vinegar.”

Since the release of Good Lies, Overmono has been tirelessly refining their live performances, embarking on a world tour and recording a Boiler Room set in Manchester. Their electrifying performance at Glastonbury Festival further solidified their status as a must-see act. In 2024, they released a remix of the Streets classic “Turn the Page” and collaborated with Fred Again.. and Lil Yachty for the single “Stayinit.”
