Suge Knight to Release Memoir 'Your Pain Is My Joy'
Suge Knight, the infamous co-founder of Death Row Records, is set to release his memoir, Your Pain Is My Joy, promising an unflinching look at his controversial life.

Suge Knight, a towering figure in hip-hop history as the co-founder and CEO of Death Row Records, is preparing to share his life story in a new memoir titled Your Pain Is My Joy.
The 352-page book promises a candid and unapologetic journey into the mind of the original rap kingpin. It is scheduled for release on August 4th, published by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Knight's influence on hip-hop over the last 50 years is undeniable. In 1991, he co-founded Death Row Records with Dr. Dre, catapulting West Coast rap into the global spotlight with artists like Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. Once labeled the most feared man in hip-hop, Knight's imposing presence, affiliation with the Bloods, and history of violent encounters have cemented his controversial image.
The memoir doesn't shy away from controversy, addressing the infamous rumor of dangling Vanilla Ice over a balcony to secure publishing rights to "Ice Ice Baby," and his explosive feuds with Bad Boy Records founder Sean "Diddy" Combs.
He will also revisit the East Coast–West Coast hip-hop rivalry and recount his version of the events surrounding Shakur's shooting in Las Vegas in September 1996, which ultimately led to the rapper's death.
Knight penned Your Pain Is My Joy while serving a 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, a consequence of the 2015 death of Terry Carter.
