The indie world is buzzing: The xx are back! After a prolonged hiatus, the trio—Jamie xx, Romy, and Oliver Sim—reunited on stage in Mexico City, igniting excitement among fans worldwide. This performance, the first of three at the Pepsi Center WTC, heralds their return to live music after eight long years. They are also slated to perform at Coachella, Kilby Block Party, and Primavera Sound this year.
The setlist was a carefully curated blend of their discography, featuring tracks from all three The xx albums, alongside selections from each member's solo endeavors. Since their 2017 album I See You, each member has explored individual projects, but have been working on a follow-up since 2023. The inclusion of Jamie xx's "Loud Places" and his collaboration with Gil Scott-Heron on "I'll Take Care Of U," plus Oliver Sim's "GMT," and Romy's "Enjoy Your Life" added a personal touch to the evening.
