The indefatigable Ty Segall is back, proving once again that his creative well runs endlessly deep. The prolific garage-rock maestro has announced a dual assault on our eardrums this summer: a new album, Chrome, and an accompanying EP, Love Fuzzz, both slated for release on August 28 via Drag City.

Chrome is being heralded as Segall's most maximalist effort in years, a sonic pivot after a series of experimental detours and last year's raw, back-to-basics Possession. Fans can anticipate a return to a grander, more expansive sound.

Alongside the album, the Love Fuzzz EP offers a glimpse into the creative overflow from the Chrome sessions. It includes intriguing outliers and a reimagined version of a Twins track, now extended and aptly retitled "Love Fuzzz."

Leading the charge is the blistering single "Black Paint," a track that immediately reasserts Segall's signature blend of raw power and melodic ingenuity.

The accompanying video for "Black Paint," helmed by Alex Bulli, offers a visceral montage of Segall's electrifying live performances. It features his formidable touring band: Ben Boye, Evan Burrows, Mikal Cronin, and Emmett Kelly, capturing the raw energy that defines his shows.

The full-length Chrome was meticulously recorded at Sonic Ranch with the esteemed Cooper Crain at the helm. This collaboration promises a polished yet potent sound, showcasing Segall's vision in its most refined form.

While 2023 saw Segall take a rare break from full-length albums, he was far from idle. January brought the release of the dynamic “Live” “At” “The” “BBC” EP with his occasional collaborators, The Muggers, reminding us that even a "quiet" year for Ty Segall is still a busy one.
