Angélique Kidjo Announces New Album 'Hope!!' Featuring Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, and More; Listen to 'Fall on Me' with PJ Morton

Excitement is building for the upcoming album, Hope!!, from the legendary Angélique Kidjo. The Beninese singer has just released the first single, “Fall on Me,” featuring PJ Morton. Hope!!, arriving April 24th via Warner, is the highly anticipated follow-up to Kidjo’s 2021 album, Mother Nature.

This star-studded project boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Pharrell Williams, who produced three tracks at his studio in Paris, as well as Nile Rodgers, Ayra Starr, Quavo, and The Gap Band’s Charlie Wilson, among others.

Hope!! is dedicated to Kidjo’s mother, celebrating her optimism and strength. The album concludes with a heartfelt rendition of “Malaika,” a Swahili love song that held special significance for her mother.

"I started singing when I was six years old, and I’m grateful every day that I still get to live my passion and do what I love with my life,” Kidjo shared in a press statement. “At the same time I know that many people struggle to find joy, especially when there’s so much to worry about in our world today. With this album I wanted to put some fire back in people’s hearts, and show how much we need that joy and hope to keep our humanity going.”

Kidjo will embark on a tour across North America and Europe to celebrate Hope!!, kicking off March 26th in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and wrapping up in Vienne, France, in July. See the full itinerary below.
