Ariana Grande Hints at New Summer Album Release, Reversing Acting Focus
Ariana Grande is teasing a potential summer album release, signaling a possible return to music sooner than expected after indicating a focus on acting.
Ariana Grande, one of pop's biggest stars, might be heading back to the studio sooner than we thought. While recent comments suggested a pivot towards acting, new hints suggest a summer album could be in the works.
On Wednesday, Grande posted a carousel of studio photos. According to TMZ, these aren't just throwbacks. Sources close to the singer claim she's already completed a new LP, aiming for a summer release.
Her last album, 2024's Eternal Sunshine, marked her return to music after four years, achieving double platinum status and spawning two #1 hits. On June 6, she's set to launch her Eternal Sunshine Tour in Oakland. The Brighter Days hotline, initially created for the Eternal Sunshine release, recently updated its message, teasing the tour and hinting at a possible eighth album with a playful reference: "Our staff here at brighter days are so looking forward to continuing our mission of bringing happiness and healing to as many as we can this summer in person. we’re counting down the 8s — oops, i mean the days."

Since Eternal Sunshine, Grande has been promoting her roles in the Wicked films. While the second Wicked film faced some criticism, the first was a success, earning Grande an Oscar nomination. Last year, she mentioned taking a break from music to focus on acting. However, in a January Variety interview, when asked about releasing new music before her Eternal Sunshine Tour, Grande hinted at a change of plans: "Nothing is coming before May. I love [the fans] so much, but sometimes I want to ask, 'Do you think there’s another version of me out there who had time to write an album?' Not yet — but soon enough."
Grande also has upcoming acting roles in American Horror Story, the Meet The Parents sequel Focker In-Law, and the animated Dr. Seuss adaptation Oh, The Places You'll Go!
