Barry Manilow Postpones Arena Tour Dates Following Surgeon's Warning

Barry Manilow has announced a further postponement of his arena tour dates after a recent consultation with his surgeon yielded disappointing news. The singer, who underwent surgery to remove a cancerous spot on his lung, shared the update with fans on social media.

Despite his efforts to regain his stamina, including rigorous treadmill workouts, Manilow admitted he struggled to perform more than a few songs consecutively. He had hoped to proceed with the arena shows scheduled for the coming weeks, but his surgeon advised against it.

"Barry, you won’t be ready to do a 90 minute show. Your lungs aren’t ready yet. You’re in great shape considering what you’ve been through, but your body isn’t ready. You shouldn’t do the first Arena shows. You won’t make it through," the surgeon reportedly told Manilow.

While the singer expressed his eagerness to return to the stage, he acknowledged the wisdom of his doctor's recommendation. "Deep down, my body knew what my heart didn’t want to admit: I wasn’t ready."

Manilow initially revealed his lung surgery in December, leading to the postponement of his 2026 farewell tour dates in January. Further delays were announced in February as he required additional recovery time.

The latest announcement affects the first segment of his arena tour, pushing the start date from February 27th to March 17th. However, Manilow remains optimistic about performing his Las Vegas shows towards the end of March, followed by the second batch of concerts in early April, as per his doctor's assessment.

"I’m SO, SO sorry I have to reschedule some of these first Arena shows. Again!" Manilow wrote, assuring fans of his eventual return: "But when I do come back, I will COME BACK!!!"

Expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support, Manilow shared, "The doctor said that my body had been through hell and that it needed time to heal. So, I’m going back to healing. All my love and gratitude, B."
