Ray J Claims Health Crisis: 'My Heart's Only Beating Like 25 Percent'
Ray J has revealed a serious health scare, claiming his heart is functioning at only 25% due to past substance abuse, and expressing concerns about his future and family.
Ray J has shared a concerning update with fans, stating that he believes he's in his "last days" due to a severe heart issue. According to the artist, his heart is only functioning at approximately 25%.
In a recent Instagram Live video, Ray J explained that a history of substance abuse has taken a significant toll on his health, leading him to believe he may not live past 2027.
"2027, it’s definitely a wrap for me. That’s what the doctor said," he told viewers. He also expressed gratitude for the well-wishes he received during a recent hospitalization for pneumonia.
"I want to thank everybody for praying for me. I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 per cent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right," he stated.
He further claimed that doctors told him the right side of his heart is "black," attributing this to his past struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, which he equated to consuming 10 doses of Adderall and roughly four bottles of alcohol daily.
"[I thought] I can handle all the alcohol, I can handle all the Adderall, the drugs, I can handle everything – but I couldn’t. It curved my time. I fucked my shit up real bad," he admitted, while also acknowledging the support he's receiving from his sister, Brandy.

"Shout out to Brandy for looking out for me. She paid my bills for me for the rest of the year," he said, also mentioning his plans to seek treatment in Haiti, where doctors may offer more effective solutions.
Ray J also expressed sadness about the potential lack of time with his children due to ongoing legal issues with his wife, Princess Love.
In late November, the 44-year-old was arrested following a domestic dispute call at his residence.
He was booked at the LAPD’s Van Nuys Station, according to ABC News, and his bail was set at $50,000. Rolling Stone reported that a restraining order prevents him from contacting his wife.
"I love my baby mama more than anything, anything. She don’t know how drastic the time is that I got, but she is life," Ray J confessed on the livestream. "If I could drive over to where my baby mama is with my kids right now and just spend time with them for the next two or three months, I would do that. But I got a criminal protective order where I can’t see them."
Ray J is known for his song with Lil' Kim, ‘Wait A Minute’, and singles such as 2005’s ‘One Wish’ and the 2008 hit ‘Sexy Can I’.
In 2022, he defended his tattoo of Brandy's face on his leg: "It’s my leg, it’s my sister. I love my sister and that was just a symbol of me saying thank you… If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be here. I’m humbled just to have her help me."
