Lana Del Rey Enters the World of 007 with "First Light" for New James Bond Video Game
Lana Del Rey finally collaborates with the James Bond franchise, contributing "First Light" to a new 007 video game after her previous submission for 'Spectre' was passed over.
More than a decade after Lana Del Rey submitted her song “24” for consideration as the theme to the 2015 James Bond film Spectre—Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On the Wall” was chosen instead—the pop singer has finally collaborated with the franchise on a theme. No, it’s not for a new 007 film but a new 007 video game called First Light. Listen to it below while you wait for news of who the next Bond will be.
Del Rey wrote the track alongside frequent Bond film composer David Arnold. In a statement, Arnold said that, “Lana brought an elegance and atmosphere to the song that felt perfectly suited to continuing that tradition while introducing something fresh for a new era.”
In February, Del Rey released the song “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter,” the latest offering from her forthcoming album.
